Oh yes and then theres....

THIS
Unbearably girly dress. I love it- alas would look terribly dumpy and idiotic in it. But there is the joy in grillastyling ;) I can dream!

LOTS more coming soon!!

Monday is linky-link day. I have decided. And myself and Miryam the Lovely (pronounced twins by Pub Man) will be doing some more grilla VERY soon. Being a geek I'm EXTREMELY excited to say that I will soon have some sort of grilla fashion choices random look chooser for you to use. not as cool as the cards.... but it means you can take grilla home and try it! And it means I can play with Excel some more. Call me sad- go on, I don't care!!!
Meanwhile, the only dress I EVER want is this purple tulle one, being modelled by Emma Watson who looks absolutely beautiful in it- specially with the military jacket and the ladder. Turns out the dress is by fancy-schmancy designer Monique Lhuillier, who has it on her site in dark browny-red sported by a depressed looking emaciated stick. Shame. I quite fancy getting hold of a load of tulle and some safety pins and just flouncing about in it!!!
Which reminds me- today I fell in love with this seagull print dress, to go with these shoes and this cardi I already have. Never mind that it looks like an ebay picture (I left my foot in for amusement only) Am I turning into a rockabilly chick?!?!?

And finally.... Tweed Nurse and Baggy Victorian in H&M

Just as I knew it couldn't get harder........Baggy Victorian and Tweed Nurse!! This is the point where I picked a random shirt out in H&M and got stuck in it because it was a size 6.... uurg not good!! (Thanks Miryam for getting me out of there)
My real (repro 1970s) Victorian locket came in handy....with the cutest pic ever of Miryam doing Victorian down to a T- and me as a somehwhat tarty nurse inexplicably wearing purple peeptoe heels. Ah well! one cannot cover EVERY eventuality in the accessories department with only one rucksack.
Inevitably we fell for the charms of H&M, spot on fashion and gorgeous things at fab prices as usual..... and left with sexy laceup trousers (Miryam) and teal leopard print leggings (me) (sorry fashion police) and a pair of glittery flats apiece... mine purepl hers black (of course) which proves that no matter how much we love to shop, our individual styles shine through!!
One fab meal at the Real Greek later and here I am blogging into the night.
A fab idea well executed! *pats self and Miryam on back*

and the sillier poses.....

Chocolate Chav and Knitted Scottish in Uniqlo

Well. So we thought the first one was a challenge..... over margaritas we picked the next two and I got Welsh again!!!! so I put it back and got Scottish...... SIGH. Cutting the pack, we discovered, is more exciting- shuffle, cut, and put half of each pack in front of the other person. Cound ONE TWO THREE... and turn over the top card.
We hit Uniqlo for the likelihood of finding tartan and knitwear in the same shop as cotton tracksuits.... we did WELL!

Welsh Navy and Gold Emo in TopShop

Wrote and shuffled the cards up... drank espresso and pomegranate and orange blossom lemonade (surely only in Westfield!)
Photographed the accessories......
I have to say that the cards were meant to be a starting point but we NEVER expected such a challenge. Welsh Navy? Gold Emo?
Aaargh!!!
I went for red and white.... lipstick, dress, and navy BLUE as well as military, ie Navy, style... sort of.... anyway lets not talk about the hat it just seemed right....!! And in the event my tattoos make me look like a sailor anyway...Miryam did loads better with Gold Emo and I told her to think about miserable poetry and how her Mum irons all her cheap black clothes (not in real life of course)... seemed to work fine :)
Welsh Navy; red and white dress (skirt only seen) £35 ish, stripy vest top £30, sleeveless jacket thing £20, hat £12, glittery shoes from Office
Gold Emo; Jacket £120, leggings £20? black dress....errr.. £40? New Rock boots from Camden

WOW. Just back from awesome girly shopping trip in Westfield London (which was actually very plushy and cool to shop in) and the first ever outing of GrillaStyling- we had cards! we did it!! here are the imbetween photos, further posts to follow with each style and shop!

Welcome to Grilla Styling

Welcome one and all to Grilla Styling- the new pastime. But what is it? is it a new type of competitive cooking? is it some kind of rap? No- its sneaking into large clothes shops and styling and shooting a vignette in their changing rooms- all in 30 minutes flat.

here is the recipe

2 friends
2 digital cameras
a stopwatch
2 large handbags full of tights belts shoes jewellery sunglasses etc(stuff which you can't take into changing rooms generally)
2 packs of cards
a fat black permanent marker

1. write on one pack of cards, using the marker, 52 colours, textures, materials
2. fill up the other pack with countries, slebs, rockstars, and fashion genres
3. shuffle the packs (seperately)
4. sidle up to the nearest large clothing outlet
5. pull out one card from each pack to give you the look to style
6. start the stop watch- you have 10 minutes to find the clothes/accessories- remember the changing room limit- only one trip in allowed!
7. 10 minutes to style,
8. 5 minutes to shoot, (each other)
9. 5 minutes to make exit.
10. relax
11. repeat
12. blog it

I'll let you know how it goes.........!!!
